My name is Deborah Somori. As of right know, I am a sophomore at River Hill High School. When I was in a private school for eight years, I was part of orchestra, in which I was playing the violin. I was also practically forced to sing at the winter and spring concerts each year. After experiencing that time and time again, I grew to love singing. However, when I moved to Howard County and attended Clarksville Middle School, I decided to try out band, in which I played the bass clarinet for two years.
I am currently enrolled in choir here in River Hill. At school, I am under the direction of Ms. Geiger. She has taught me and is still teaching me how to read rhythmic patterns and how to solfege notes. I plan on doing choir in school for all four years. I am also part of the choir at my church's teens department. There, I am learning how to sing with confidence, how to adlib, and how to pick my own parts(harmonizing) without hearing the piano.
Singing is something I do almost everyday. I do not think that I am good at it, but I do know that I am getting better. Although I will not be continuing music professionally, it will definitely be a beloved hobby or mine.
